Computer Science A Level – CPU – Fetch Decode Execute and Interrupts Process

The Program Counter receives the instruction of “10+5”. The instruction has been moved to the CIR, where it will split. The Accumulator holds +5, and now the MAR is fetching where “10” is from the RAM It gets the value and goes to the MDR From the MDR it goes to the Accumulator. The Accumulator adds the two values together. Now we have successfully added “10+5”. The CPU now needs to store it in the RAM again where 10 was. So it goes through the MDR back into the RAM.
