Welcome to this short video looking at logging into the Wiki service, and the layout of the Interface. To get to the Wiki Dashboard page, type www.wiki.ed.ac.uk into the address bar and press the Return key. You’ll need to log in through EASE, so click on the Log in button at the top-right of the page. Next, enter your EASE username and password, and click on the Login now button. Now that you’re logged in, you’ll be able to view and edit more content. The Alerts for Wiki Service box will inform you of any known issues or planned downtime. New features and upgrade information can be found on the What’s New with Wiki box. Finally, should you need any help or support, or wish to request your own Wiki space, look inside the Wiki Help & Guidance box. Scrolling down displays a list of spaces you can view, as well as those you have added as a favourite. Those added as a favourite are moved to the Favourite Spaces section, and will have a grey star next to them. The area on the right of the Dashboard displays any changes people within the University have made to their Wiki spaces. The category tabs at the top allow you to change what type of information is displayed. The Wiki Header at the top of the page provides access to other parts of the Wiki. Clicking on Spaces will take you to the Space Directory. The options on the left of the screen can be used to change which spaces are displayed. You can return to the main Dashboard from any page by clicking on Confluence. You can view lots of useful information about Wiki V5 by clicking on Upgrade FAQ. The Quick Search box can be used to find a space by name or keywords, instead of using the Space Directory. The Help menu can be used to access help documentation from the makers of the Confluence site, as well as keyboard shortcut options. Personal tasks, tags, comments, or likes will be displayed in the Notifications workbox. Finally, the User menu can be used to access options related to you and your Confluence activity.
