Like I set a target, that in a week I had to achieve this much. I divided the week in 2 parts I divided the week in 2 parts – Monday, Tuesday and till Wednesday evening and Thursday, Friday and till Saturday evening. – Monday, Tuesday and till Wednesday evening and Thursday, Friday and till Saturday evening. Suppose I fixed a target on Monday, I make the plan on Sunday that in the coming week I have to achieve this target. Mr. Sarvesh, this is a very good strategy that you have told us to divide the week in 2 parts, Monday to Wednesday and then Thursday to Saturday and to give your mock in Sunday. Monday to Wednesday and then Thursday to Saturday and to give your mock in Sunday. But this schedule is very tight because you have to divide your week and clear the topics in that week itself and give the test on Sunday. In this situation, how did you achieve motivation and how did you overcome distractions? In this situation, how did you achieve motivation and how did you overcome distractions? Because distractions are very evident. If you have to do only preparations, there are a lot of distractions. So, tell us this Because distractions are very evident. I didn’t have any answer because in reality I had not done anything. Some friends that were working in TCS, CTS, Infosys, and some other companies whose name I may not even know. So whenever it happened, I thought that if i didn’t do it, I don’t know about myself but my parents would have to listen to a lot that their son wasn’t able to do anything. So how would I bear that? To specify the name of 1 or 2 of them will become difficult for me, like ‘ Count your Chickens Before they Hatch’ , ‘Rich dead Poor dead’. like ‘ Count your Chickens Before they Hatch’ , ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’. You get to learn a lot of morals in these. You have to plan your own strategy as to what you want to do, how you want to do it and when you want to do it. This depends on you. It took me some time time to decipher it’s meaning, but I did it. but I did it. If you want, you can do anything. 6 months is more than sufficient. But it is very important that you study regularly. It shouldn’t be that you study 1 day and take a gap for 2 days. Like you ate for 1 day and stayed hungry for the next 2 days. You should study regularly. Even if you study for 4 hours, but make sure that like you bathe, or eat or sleep, you study in the same way whatever happens. Study for 6 months and see, if you can’t do it tell me. But be honest to yourself. Miss Kshitija: Be true to yourself, it is very important to see if you know your own studies how much you are studying. Give yourself 6 months see in that time how much you can study. Mr. Sarvesh, while preparing for any government exam, it is very important to see how much competition there is. It is just as important to have knowledge about and analyse your competition. is equally important In your preparation, How did you gain knowledge about the competition and analyse your performance? Mr. Sarvesh: ma’am the credit for this also goes to my father. He taught me a very good thing, that we watch how much competition is there, and how many people fill up the forms etc.. etc.. like i gave the exam for RRB NTPC, there were 18000 seats which reduced to 14000. And everybody panicked because 92 lakh applications had come in. I didn’t have anything to do with 92 lakh people, i am more concerned about if I can secure 1 of those 14000 seats. am I not capable enough to secure 1? I am considering myself 1 of the 92 lakh people, but where there are 14000 seats, am I not capable enough to secure 1? I will improve myself. The world can do whatever it wants. They can set their parameters. I have set my parameters as to where I lie between Beginner, Intermediate or advance. I started evaluating myself as to how much I am improving. The results are in front of you. Miss Kshitija: so when you were preparing, anylisis how did testbook supported you and what role did testbook played to help you prepare ? Mr. Sarvesh: Testbook is such a site that i found i to be honest which came in the form of God’s grace for me. I don’t have words to express because I realized this later. Like I told you, i found Testbook while searching on google. Testbook is such that when I give the Sectional Test, they tell my overall percentile that I am ahead this many people and behind this many. They cover my strong areas and my weak areas. They tell me my strong areas and what I need to improve on and the time I took. What I was able to do and what i wasn’t able to do and what I have to do. what should be done, Secondly what I realized later was, in maximum places if i was lost some Institutes or tutors, they give irrelevant questions just to increase their USP in the market that they have some tricks so that students come to us, some hard questions which don’t even appear in the exam. If you take the last year’s questions for any exam, you will not find any relevance in those questions. but still they make student do it, you just need to strengthen you basic and keep you basic clear the rest will happen on it’s own. just focus on basic Testbook never gave me any irrelevant questions, all questions were good, which were probable to appear in the exam. I need to do those questions. The rest i can do later, during my Phd. i don’t need to take tension about that. Right now I am more concerned about my survival and getting a job. I can become a scholar later. I can do only that much in 6 months. Miss Kshitija: what was that one thing when you look back, to your preparation that time of yours what do you think you could have done differently that would help you prepare? Mr. Sarvesh: there are some things, which I would not want to disclose right now, because 1 thing i have realized now which i don,t know before. one line i understood that whatever happens, happens for good. If had made mistakes and regretted it now that maybe i would have got my job early then I wouldn’t gain that experience I wouldn’t have been doing what I am doing today or what I could be doing. I don’t regret anything. Whatever happened was for good. The one thing I would like to say is that i don’t repeat my mistakes. i have done mistakes, corrected then and moved foreword any other mistake done is fine but will not repeat the same mistake and regret it there is no use of regent but you can learn from them and how much i have improved from the same mistake. this is my motto Miss Kshitija: you have rightly said learn from your mistakes mistakes are to be learned from if you do some mistake you should correct them, learn and and don’t repeat it. now let’s move on in your preparation what was your strongest and weakest subject? To be honest my strong subject was English and reasoning, in math i was above average that’s how i consider myself, you are free to judge. my weakest point will be GA,GK i was scared as i don’t know anything about GK, i forgot history and geography. i dont’ know about economic and polity what do i know? i haven’t studied angering but for government exam there is a book which i followed, maybe, according to me maximum thing are covered, and maximum student well be knowing of lucent book by studying lucent book it covers maximum things in a crisp way is written in the book. outside this, at lest, according to me maximum exams can be covered you don’t need to study. Miss Kshitija: like you said current affairs and GA,GK is hard to study is was hard for you, like you other students also feel the same it was hard to remember and it takes time to prepare so do you have some tip which you followed or the schedule you followed to make GK easy for you, from that what can audience learn? what i did was i took lucent and gave a quick reading, what i feel was important for was asked in previous paper, i made a copy and wrote all the points and also i take screen shot in my phone whenever i travel while i listen to music i take a quick review to the screen shot secondly before sleeping i see it again, as i have observed in me and about others in night before sleeping if you read it that will remain in your mind so in the morning i automatically remember it and for current affairs i use your testbook app over there everything thing is clearly mention about your daily events make sure if you study current affair that day or the other day give a quizzes , by doing quizzes you will remember it, after giving quizzes we will make mistake and we learn from our mistakes i followed this. Miss Kshitija: like we know you have completed RRP and NDP exams what is the exam patten and stages? Mr. Sarvesh: basically in RRP and NDP railway give 3 exams, 1st math 2nd reasoning, 3rd general awareness that don’t ask English in railway pattern English is not included many people get confused about English as in ssc and banks they ask but not in railway you have to be good in math, GK and reasoning when the notification was removed it was said there will be only one stage that is computer based test the selection will be based on this test but because there are many applicant around 92 lack even it was said this is the world biggest exams ever conducted on this bases administration has taken the decision to conduct mains exams the exam pattern is same, math reasoning and GK 120 question is given for 90 min Miss Kshitija: what was the next step after completing mains and prelims exam we got to know that there will be psychometric test conducted that will appear in upcoming railway test what information you can give to the audience about RRP and NDP you can provide the information Mr. Sarvesh: psychometric is the biggest exam of railway i forgot to tell its good you remind me about it psychometric test for railway plays a important role, psychometric is because railway exam are in a safety category and a presser oriented job so that why RDSO is a railway organization of research, design and standard organization which is based in Lucknow they test our cognitive abilities, for example when an employer gives us a job in face to face interview, employer cannot tell the hidden behavior abilities and if he/she will do the wight work for this job they can also lie about it, to remove this railways conduct aptitude test in which you will be give some quotation from which you will have some mental presser, with in a short span of time you have to solve them it is basically conducted because so the presser and the right time the decision making skills and problem solving skills, all this are there in you or not railway want some parameter about the job and are you the right one for the job because one wrong decision will be like you are playing with people’s life so it becomes your responsibility that people trust you and come to railway so railway will take your exams and sees if you can do the job or not. many student even some of my friends how did good in prelims and mains but failed in physio psychosomatic test is very important stage you should not take it lightly and give your best in this one stage you have to specifically take care of is personality test Miss Kshitija: like you said that psychosomatic has personality test similarly what are the other stages which are important to know ? Mr. Sarvesh: 1st stage is odd figure test in which you will be given 5 figure and you have to select the odd one and you have to complete in a particular span of time 2nd was addition of odd numbers you will be given series of numbers which will have odd and even numbers you have to select add numbers and add them and submit it 3rd is shortest end distance you have to find new root between 2 points which will not have any obstruction that you have to tell 4th was information ordering test in this you will be given symbol and number you have see which number symbolize which symbol some symbol will be positive and negative you have to complete that process of addition and subtraction and give one result Miss Kshitija: so this was the full story of psychosomatic now the psychosomatic test is done and your name is in the final list so when you saw you name in the final list how did you and you family feel ? Mr. Sarvesh: 1st thing i did was, where i live i went to the terrace and screamed loudly about all the frustration and yes i did it after that i called my mother the moment i said my mother there was this silence my mother didn’t say anything she was quite for the rest 2 3 min from that i felt like i got some thing from that tears of happiness of my mother i was like yes i have done something for my mother my whole life is her, there is no comparison for me my dad set a target for me he said very good but remember one thing your foot should be on the ground and head should be up he said to enjoy today next day he asked me what next? Miss Kshitija: we will also ask you the same what next ? Mr. Sarvesh: i will always try to move forward in life and do something for the society for the next upcoming month maybe you will listen something good result maybe if i get the opportunity to be interviewed you again if people invited me again, let’s wait whenever the result will be out i will personally call you and inform you about it Miss Kshitija: like we said before you are posted in calcutta metro as a traffic assistant what are the job requirement ? and what is you ideal day Mr. Sarvesh: traffic assessment basically is unique under metro railway calcutta in this there are 2 branches , one commercial and one operational calcutta metro cover very short root so our responsibility is manage both the branches, commercial in the sense we have to deal with cash transaction you will be the 1st person who will deal with the costumer on the station all the facility on that root you will have to take care, that they don’t have any problem 2nd thing in operational all the save movement of the train you will be in charge of traffic you have to see the that the train move right and help you senior. the duties is decided by the administer we have to work accordingly Miss Kshitija: Sarvesh ji can you tell us about the hiraki of the traffic assestent in calcutta ? Mr. Sarvesh: 1st you join as a traffic assestent after 2 years you become senior traffic assestent and then you become traffic supervisor, they set in a control panel and lead the signals and the control is all yours then you can become station superintendent in between this if you want you can give departmental exam and shift your post any department in which you see the vacancy you will be moved Miss Kshitija: upcoming exams OF railway for preparation can you give some tips to the student that will help them prepare for exams easily Mr. Sarvesh: it is a big opportunity for us there are many people who haven’t got the job don’t miss this opportunity don’t see that what news shows that there is so many applicant you just have to see that you have to get that one seat are you not capable of that one seat? yes you are. what do you have to do? if you listen to me you will have tutor and mentor they must be guiding you which i don’t know but from my side my suggestion is that revise the previous exam paper see what level of question you are tough, today it is easy to bluff you to earn more money and teach irreverent question which is not linked to the exam but if you want to crack you exams as you have your exams with in 2 months so see previous questions and see if you can solve them, if you are able to solve them it is good and if not see where you are lagging and clear your basic short cut question will be help you in 1 or 2 question, for maximum question to score you will have to clear your basic and 1 or 2 question will not decide you cut off cut off is decided by how many question you have attempted how many you will attempt and how much time you will take start with chapter wise do it chapter wise don’t do full what you can do is if you are doing average in math set a routine, keep basic, intermediate and advance. 1st clear your basic then intermediate and then advance. immediately going on advance and forgetting basic is not good. it will put you in problem take proper 2 mock in 1 week of that chapter wise and keep revising suppose if you forget the previous chapter while you are studying next chapter you have to revise the previous one too because you have less time 3rd is that when you give the section you can prepare 5 chap
